Conner
Prairie Pioneer Settlement is a living history museum
depicting the lifestyles and experiences of Indiana settlers
through three historic settings on 210 acres along the White
River. The first area is the 1816 Lenape Indian Camp and trading
post, which features five Delaware Indian wigwams and a log
trading post. Visit with an Indian in her wigwam and chat
with a fur trader. The second area is the 1836 Prairietown,
which includes a restored inn, doctor’s office, school
house, general store, blacksmith shop, pottery shop and carpentry
shop. Meet the “residents” of Prairietown and
discuss the events of the day. The third area is the 1886
Liberty Corner with a covered bridge, a Quaker Meeting House
and a farmstead with the home, barn, etc. The Conner Prairie
Museum Center contains exhibits and an orientation film. Restaurant,
Gift Shop. For more information, visit www.connerprairie.org.
