Injured, widowed IMB worker cheered by SBC messengers
By Matt Miller
Carrie McDonnall, a worker for the International Mission Board whose husband, David, was killed March 15 in Iraq, receives a standing ovation June 16 during the IMB report time at the annual meeting of the Southern Baptist Convention at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. David McDonnall was a student at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas, until he responded to the urgent need for Arabic-speaking humanitarian aid workers in Iraq. Carrie McDonnall was critically injured during the drive-by shooting that took the lives of her husband and three co-workers. Assisting her is Bill Bangham, IMB representative.
