Southwestern alumni luncheon
slated June 16 in Atlanta's Omni
FORT WORTH, Texas (BP)--Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary
alumni will honor five distinguished alumni award recipients and hear a progress report
from seminary President Kenneth S. Hemphill during their national alumni luncheon June 16
at the Omni Hotel in Atlanta.
O.S. Hawkins, Annuity Board chairman and national alumni
association president, will preside at the luncheon, which begins at 12:30 p.m. in the
Barrington and Liberty halls.
Distinguished alumni for 1999 are Charles Bryan, former Foreign Mission Board senior vice
president for overseas operations and FMB area director for Middle America and the
Caribbean; Guinell Freeman, educational director at First Baptist Church, Jacksonville,
Fla., for 43 years; Robert Hamblin, retired vice president of the Home Mission Board;
Felix Gresham, retired director of admissions and dean of students at Southwestern; and
Jack Terry, vice president of institutional advancement and former dean of the school of
religious education at Southwestern.
The Omni Hotel is located in the east end of the CNN Center, one
block from the Georgia Dome where the Southern Baptist Convention will be held.
